Marco Cominelli

I am a Ph.D. Student in Telecommunication Engineering at the Department of Information Engineering (DII) at the University of Brescia, Italy.
My research activity focuses on wireless systems that are aware of the surrounding environment and are able to locate other devices. In particular, I am evaluating the performance and the security of different positioning techniques in Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and ultra-wideband (UWB) technologies. The ability to estimate accurately the position of wireless devices offers an entire new set of location-based services, but also raises threats to users’ privacy and security. For this reason, my goal is to investigate how current wireless technologies can offer better (yet more secure) positioning features.
