Giovanni Perin

Giovanni Perin was born in Castelfranco Veneto (TV) in 1995 and has been an Assistant Professor (RTDa) at the Department of Information Engineering (DII) of the University of Brescia (Italy) since February 2025. Before joining the University of Brescia, he was a Postdoc researcher at the Department of Information Engineering (DEI) of the University of Padova (Italy), from 2023 to 2025. He graduated with an M.Sc. in ICT for Internet and Multimedia (LM-27) with honors at the University of Padova in 2019 and obtained a Ph.D. in Information Engineering from the same University in 2023, working on sustainable edge computing and distributed optimization under the supervision of Prof. Michele Rossi. He spent six months at the Deutsche Telekom Chair of Communication Networks of the Technical University of Dresden (Germany) in 2019 and six months at the University of California, Irvine (USA) in 2022, working on reinforcement learning-based broadcast routing and vehicular communications, respectively. His current research focuses on decentralized, secure, and sustainable machine learning at the edge and Wi-Fi sensing and security.
